The pizza I had on this occasion was truly one of the best I’ve ever had. The dough was exceptionally good – light and flavorful. The pizza sauce and ingredients were absolutely amazing, with perfect balance and fresh, high-quality toppings. To complement the incredible pizza, I also indulged in a glass of the restaurant’s homemade wine. The VIN proved to be a really good pairing with the pizza, enhancing the flavors of both. It was the perfect combination. Overall, from the dough to the toppings to the homemade wine, every element of this meal was exemplary. It’s clear a tremendous amount of care and skill goes into the cooking here. I’ll definitely be returning to enjoy more of their fantastic pizza and wine pairings.

Looking for a sweet and welcoming lunch spot, I popped into Gemma’s Café on a whim. What a delightful discovery! The owner, Gemma, greeted me with a warm smile and wonderful recommendations. I settled in with a grilled panini, coffee, and tea – all tasty and filling. But the real star was Gemma’s fun hybrid treats. How could I resist trying her cookie brownie experiment? Sweet, fudgy, and oh so decadent.

Whether dining in cozy corners or taking out, this hidden gem exudes comfort. Prices are quite reasonable too. Most of all, Gemma’s kindness and hospitality make all feel at home. I left satisfied and smiling, making me a permanent customer. Be sure to pay her a visit!

My friend and I visited Brunch Delights while in Marseille recently and couldn’t have been happier with our experience. Despite a bit of a queue outside, we were seated promptly and didn’t wait long at all.

The food is absolutely outstanding – some of the best brunch dishes I’ve ever had. We decided to try the Dolce Vite Benedict and Truffle French Toast and were blown away by the flavors. Everything was perfectly cooked and presented.

In addition to the delicious food, the service was excellent. Our server was friendly, helpful, and spoke great English to accommodate us tourists. The prices were very reasonable given the quality.

While exploring Marseille’s vibrant culinary scene, one meal stood out as truly extraordinary – our discovery of Bar Non. Don’t be deceived by the unassuming façade on a quiet street, for behind its doors lies a feast for the senses.

Upon entering, we were seamlessly seated in the lively rear dining room, full of lively locals enjoying lively conversation. Then, the culinary surprises began with an enigmatic, multi-course tasting menu. We opted for the six-plate option at an unbelievable value of €54 each.

What followed was nothing short of magical. Each perfectly executed bite showcased seasonal ingredients in dazzling harmony. A highlight was tender line-caught fish complemented by a puckering side sauce, simplicity itself elevated to art.

Throughout our gastronomic journey, the enthusiastic staff could not have been more attentive or knowledgeable about the creations. Their passion for food was palpable.

While portions were small as befits the formal tasting concept, we left utterly satisfied. Bar Non serves not just nourishment, but an experience to savor long after in memory. My wife and I were exploring the side streets of [location] looking for something different for dinner when we literally stumbled upon Tapas 45. It looked like such a small, unassuming place from the outside but we were drawn in by the inviting atmosphere.

We were glad we took a chance – the menu was fantastic and featured typical Spanish tapas plus a few unique dishes you don’t see everywhere. For starters, I had some of the best chicken legs I’ve ever tasted, cooked to tender perfection and served with thick-cut fries. My wife got a mixed plate with several smaller tapas like olives, fried calamari, and croquettes.

Service was excellent – friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to provide recommendations. We also enjoyed a bowl of Lentil soup that was hearty and full of flavor. Everything was fresh, portion sizes were generous for the price.

This place feels like an authentic little Spanish secret. Even though it’s small, the food and experience make Tapas 45 well worth seeking out. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in the neighborhood!

My friend and I popped into Nos Twist bar for a casual drink but were intrigued by their menu options as well. The staff was very welcoming as we explored the list of specialty serves.

We decided to try something from their “Twist” menu and went with the Caprese twist, which paired vodka with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil. It was incredibly flavorful and creative – definitely stepping above a regular cocktail.

From there we knew we had to try a dessert too. Everything looked irresistible but we settled on the Twist Tasting Plate to sample a few options. Each mini serving was like a work of art and exploded with flavor.

My partner and I were looking for an authentic Provençal dining experience during our visit to the south of France. L’Olivier fit the bill perfectly with its charming outdoor terrace surrounded by an olive grove.

We enjoyed a gorgeous dinner under the stars, perfectly set against the rustic ambiance. But it was the food that really stole the show – each dish tasted like it was lovingly prepared with the freshest local ingredients.

Standouts included the ratatouille, grilled vegetables, and rosemary lamb chops. Everything was seasonal, bright, and full of herbs and flavors representative of the region.

Service was also top notch – our server offered spot-on recommendations and refilled wine/water without being asked. The entire experience made us feel truly transported to Provence.

L’Olivier gets everything right and I can’t recommend it enough to experience a taste of this special part of France. Whether for lunch on the patio or a romantic dinner under the olive trees, you’ll love it. We hope to return on our next visit.

My friend and I were on a day trip sightseeing in the area when we decided to stop for a beer at a local pub. Shortly after being seated, a man who gave off an uneasy vibe sat down directly behind me at the next table.

Our waitress Anna must have noticed our unease and discreetly asked the man if he wouldn’t mind moving to the other side of the table so she could better serve us. He begrudgingly complied but then hastily finished his drink and left.

We were so grateful to Anna for her perceptiveness – it gave us peace of mind to enjoy our drinks without worrying about the situation behind us. She clearly had her guests’ safety and comfort in mind.

On top of looking out for us, Anna also provided excellent service. Our beers were ice cold and she had a lovely personality. I feel like she goes above and beyond as both a guardian and a waitress.

Thank you, Anna, for watching out for us during our visit. It’s reassuring to know the staff has your back at this friendly local pub. We’ll be sure to return and recommend it to others.

Finally feeling comfortable going out again post-COVID, my friend and I decided to try the new weekday brunch buffet at Cafe Ole. For only $19.90, they bring out all the food to your table so you can order as much as you like without extra charges – what a deal!

The spread had all the classics like eggs, bacon, and potatoes plus lots of fresh fruits and yogurts. But the real standouts for me were the octopus salad and homemade lemon pie – so flavorful and perfectly executed.

Service was also top-notch. In addition to taking care of our every need, our servers were very friendly and pleasant to chat with. The whole experience was super relaxed and enjoyable.

I’m so glad Cafe Ole found a way to continue their buffet safely. It’s a great value for an indulgent meal without the guilt of an expensive bill. We’ll definitely be back to try more of their tasty fare. Highly recommended!

After enjoying England’s big win over Fiji at the velodrome, my mates and I were in search of food, pints and coverage of the Ireland vs All Blacks match. We happened upon The Scrumdown pub and were so glad we’d found the perfect spot.

They had an array of great pub grub on the menu, from bangers and mash to fish and chips. I opted for a ploughman’s platter which hit the spot. Wash it down with cold, creamy pints and you’re laughing.

The numerous large TVs showed all the action from multiple angles. At half-time they even played highlights of earlier games – rugby heaven. We started out outdoors by the pool but when the wind picked up, they seamlessly moved us inside with no hassle.

As if the food, drink and rugby weren’t enough, the friendly staff and lively crowd added to a top atmosphere. The Scrumdown has secured itself as our regular match day spot. Simply superb in every way.

While visiting Marseille for work, I was excited to sample the innovative menu at Young Chef in the InterContinental hotel. The small plates did not disappoint with unique creations like petite eggplant in miso sauce – such an unexpected flavor pairing but it worked beautifully.

A standout was the Chilean sea bass served with quinoa, black rice and a tomato dressing. So artfully plated and the flavors sang together. The rack of lamb was cooked to perfect tender pinkness.

My only hesitation was that service was quite slow. It seemed the small staff was juggling multiple functions that night. However, for the level of creativity coming out of the kitchen, it was worth waiting a bit longer to experience dishes I wouldn’t find anywhere else.

Even with the service speed, I’d highly recommend putting Young Chef on your list if dining in Marseille. The opportunity to sample international techniques interpreted through a local lens makes it a memorable culinary experience.

My boyfriend and I stopped by The Hop Yard for an after-dinner drink on a Sunday evening. We were pleasantly surprised by how buzzing the place was – it seemed to be quite the local favorite even on a slower night of the week.

The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. They made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in the door. I enjoyed an IPA on tap while my boyfriend sampled a red from the local wine list and we both agreed it was delicious.

But it was really the great vibes from both the other patrons and the employees that made The Hop Yard stand out. It’s clear they’ve cultivated a welcoming community watering hole.

We will definitely be paying them another visit for drinks, snacks and people-watching. Their top-notch service combined with a buzzing Sunday atmosphere sets them apart – we can see why this spot is so popular locally.
