Based on the receptionists recommendation, we discovered this true gem of a restaurant. From the warm welcome by friendly staff and patrons, to the variety on the inviting menu, it was clear why this place was a local favorite.

Knowing we didn’t want anything too adventurous, the burger menu was the simple yet delicious choice. And were we ever thankful – each classic burger surpassed any we’d ever tasted. On our return visit even the cooler weather couldn’t dampen our dining experience inside or the incredible flavor of the food.

With excellent, attentive service both times and a constantly busy vibe, it’s obvious what keeps patrons and first-timers like us coming back for more. Whenever we’re in Nantes, this burger paradise is an unmissable staple.

Calling ahead about vegetarian options, the staff helpfully consulted the chef who was happy to cater our needs. As a nice welcome, a warming amuse bouche surprised and pleased the palate. Starters delightfully set the stage for the standout meal to come.

My veggie main burst with flavor equal to my companions’ beautifully cooked fish. But the showstopper was dessert – the perfect sweet course. With cookies and biscuits as we left, it was clear no detail was overlooked. Every dish and drink, from the creatively crafted cointreau to friendly service, made us feel truly cared for. Celebrating an important birthday at the Manoir de Procé could not have been more perfect. Nestled idyllically amidst lush countryside, the stately manor provided a grand yet inviting backdrop. But it was not just the scenic setting that made the evening exceptional.

Each multi-course creation was exquisitely plated and bursting with flavor. Attentive staff saw to our every need with warmth and efficiency. Laughter echoed around the table as we dined in incredible surroundings and on dishes lovingly prepared. More than just a party venue, here was a place offering beautiful ambiance allied with truly outstanding cuisine and service. Memories to last were most certainly made.

After an unpleasant dining experience just up the street, we wandered into Vespa in hopes of a meal. What a find – our burger hit the spot perfectly, quality hearty flavors for great value.

Yet it was the pleasant service by the friendly staff that made us feel truly welcomed. Here were people happy to engage with tourists, answering our questions in both French and English. As we dined, nearby acrobatic performers adding an artistic flair to the lively atmosphere.

More than just a cheap bite, Vespa restored our faith that some places still understand hospitality. We left satisfied customers thanks to the delicious food and gracious hospitality.

After discovering this charming café near our hotel, the enticing lunch menu drew us in. My husband’s vegetable crumble, accompanied by a fresh salad, provided a wholesome feast. And my quinoa salad pleased to the last morsel.

Both dishes left us fully satiated yet still craving something sweet. That’s when the miniature pistachio and raspberry financier arrived – lavishly packed with flavor yet just the right petite size. Buzzing with patrons, service still ran smoothly. Coffee here is also exquisitely prepared. With a beautifully baked array and satisfying savory selections, this café far surpassed our expectations. We leave satisfied in both body and spirit.

After touring Nantes Cathedral, nothing hit the spot like an icy Guinness at this cozy pub. Located just steps away, we were cheered by friendly service that brought pints nearly instantaneously, thanks to our server Fanni. It was an added bonus to share cuisine and culture with this fellow Hungarian expat. With perfectly poured pints, lively soccer matches, and craic with locals and travelers alike, this Irish gem made us feel right at home abroad. Sláinte!

After touring Les Machines de l’Île, we sought a relaxing lunch nearby and found it at Au Bateau Lavoir. The terrace overlooked the river and city in warm sunshine – idyllic. Though empty when we arrived just after midday, the friendly server made us feel at home.

The immense charcuterie board, packed with varietals of meats and cheese, accompanied by breads and cornichons, was more than satisfied. With craft beers, stunning scenery and calm ambience, it was the perfect tranquil lunch spot. We’ll be back.

My friend, if you’re searching for the best grilled cheese of your life – your quest ends at L’épicerie. I selected a sandwich bursting with bold flavors and was not disappointed. Melted cheese bliss! To complete the experience – the lightest mint tea perfectly complements a slice of Carmel-laden cake. Conveniently located across from the regal Chateau des Ducs, this refined restaurant delighted with fresh, local seafood. The knowledgeable staff was perfectly helpful in selecting from thoughtful wine pairings for starters of earthy mushrooms.

But the stars were succulent pan-seared scallops and decadent lobster tail, both far surpassing expectations. Flavors danced on the palate. Attentive yet unfussy service allowed us to relax fully into meals meticulously prepared. An unforgettable evening made complete through excellent cuisine and gracious hospitality near storied surroundings. Reservation is worthy for both romantic meals or larger gatherings.

Walking into Cafe Kinder stirred memories from my childhood thanks to the sweet decor paying homage to years past. The menu brought smiles with its humorous English translations alongside family recipes. Excellent service only added to the experience.

The dishes arrived beautifully plated and brimming with taste. I savored tender gnocchi in a rich ragu and mouthwatering tiramisu layers. Blending retro charm with modern conveniences, this cafe strikes the perfect balance. Good nutrition and happy feelings – what more does one need? A perfect pitstop blending reminiscence with nourishment. I’ll be returning again soon for another stroll down memory lane.

Stepping into this eccentric pub truly transports you to pre-reunification Germany. Decked out with period memorabilia and mismatched furniture, it’s a conversation starter. The friendly, efficient staff kept the Kolsch beers and classic dishes like burgers and fish & chips flowing perfectly. Surprisingly child-friendly too, with coloring pages and toys at hand. An offbeat spot delivering tasty grub and drinks, plus a fun trip back in time – we’ll be back for more West German nostalgia.

As two seasoned rugby supporters exploring Nantes, finding the right breakfast spot was crucial. Right from the warm, smiling welcome, Le Bercail hit all the marks.
