Top Spots for Brunch in Glamorous Cannes

Known as the epicenter of film glamour during the Cannes Film Festival each May, the seaside town of Cannes offers chic brunch spots to fuel up before soaking in the Mediterranean vibes. Whether you crave classic French or international flavors, here are some top establishments to enjoy a leisurely weekend meal.

This gem was initially impressed with the lively al fresco ambiance – live music complementing the scenic outdoor setting. However, service astutely accommodated our request to relocate inside due to nearby smoke and noisy arriving families.

How thankful we were to discover the elegant art deco indoor area – pure tranquility providing the ideal backdrop for our gourmet selections. My tender beef fillet could not have been prepared more exquisitely, nor my partner’s veal chop be more flavorful.

But the true showstopper proved to be dessert – a peach Melba simply divine in visual artistry and flavors that blended perfectly. Utter indulgence requiring no leftovers.

Kudos to the staff for their attentiveness throughout the evening, gracefully adapting to our needs despite the bustling activity. Dishes reflected a passionate kitchen always striving for culinary perfection.

A hidden gem whether dining alfresco in warmer months beside exquisite gardening, or within perfectly serene indoor elegance. Memorable for all the right reasons.

We visited Pizzeria Ponti while staying in Cannes as it was very conveniently located near our accommodation. The proximity made it a very easy choice for dinner one evening.

The restaurant has a nice decor and atmosphere. When we arrived with a baby stroller, the staff was very friendly and helpful in making some space for us between tables. The service throughout our meal was prompt and friendly.

We ordered a few different types of pizzas to share. Overall, the pizzas were good but not amazing. The toppings, especially the cheese, seemed a bit overly generous and heavy. The dough was also on the crispy side rather than soft and chewy as we expected from Neapolitan-style pizza based on the menu photos.

While the flavors were there, the execution did not quite live up to what we had hoped for. The toppings overwhelmed the pizza at times rather than complementing it. It was filling but not memorable.

Given the convenience of its location near our accommodations, Pizzeria Ponti is a decent dinner option if you’re in the area. However, there are likely better pizza places in Cannes if that’s your main priority for dinner. The atmosphere and service are pleasant enough, but the pizzas could be improved. I’d return only out of proximity rather than making a special trip based on the food alone.

This brasserie was an absolute gem that we discovered during our stay in the area. From the warm, friendly service to the delicious menus showcasing both classic French and Thai cuisine, Le Coq made us feel right at home.

The team, led by Alex, provided excellent hospitality from our very first visit. They genuinely cared about ensuring our dinners were memorable experiences. Over the course of a week, we dined here nearly every night – it was that good!

Some standout dishes included the shepherd’s pie, which was homemade and full of flavor. The tiramisu was also phenomenal – creamy and decadent, it’s likely the best version of the dessert we’ve ever tasted. Naturally, the wine list was superb as well.

Beyond the food, the charming ambiance and cozy decor made Le Coq feel like our neighborhood hangout. We left fully satiated each night, having sampled a variety of globally inspired dishes. It’s no wonder we struggled to fit into our jeans by the end of the trip!

This brasserie has clearly raised the bar for dining in the area. The talented kitchen and service staff, led by Alex, deserve high praise. We will surely return next time and recommend Le Coq without reservation. It’s a true hidden gem.

My colleague and I visited La Table de Pierre for dinner while in Cannes on a recent work trip. From the moment we walked in, it was clear we were in for a great experience.

The waitress greeted us warmly and seated us right away, without any wait. Our order was taken promptly and the meal arrived surprisingly fast – our food was hot, the portions generous, and the flavors really popped. What’s more, prices were very reasonable for the quality of the meal.

In addition to the fantastic service and tasty food, the restaurant itself is a treat. The decor is elegant yet inviting, creating a lovely ambiance. Soft music plays to enhance the dining experience without being overpowering.

Perhaps most impressive was the lack of rush we felt throughout our visit. We were able to relax and enjoy a long, leisurely dinner without feeling pushed to leave. The staff struck the perfect balance.

Overall, La Table de Pierre offers everything you want from a fine dining experience at excellent value. I will most definitely return during future trips to Cannes and would highly recommend stopping in. It’s a true neighborhood gem.

My wife, kids and I had a truly memorable dining experience at Restaurant de la Plage. From the warm welcome by the friendly staff to the incredible beachfront setting with picturesque views, everything about the evening was perfect.

The food was prepared to an impeccably high standard, with dishes that pleased all palates. Whether it was fresh seafood, classic Mediterranean fare, or kid-friendly options, flavor and quality shone through. Drinks like wine and craft cocktails were perfectly executed as well.

What made our dinner extra special was an unforgettable visitor – dolphins were swimming just offshore! The kids were enthralled watching them from our table right by the water’s edge. It created a truly magical backdrop.

Between the phenomenal cuisine, stunning ambiance, and excellent service, Restaurant de la Plage is undeniably one of the top spots in Cannes. The breathtaking panoramas of beach, sea, and mountains will long remain in our memories. We will most definitely return on our next visit. This restaurant is not to be missed.

6. La Casa di nonna

My husband and I were excited to try Casa di Nonna given the inviting name, which conjures images of a cozy, home-cooked Italian meal. However, our experience here left us thoroughly disappointed.

From the limited menu – which the staff attributed vaguely to a “temporary exhibition” – to the inflated prices, very little about this restaurant lived up to expectations. The handful of overpriced dishes we sampled were bland and average at best.

Worst of all was feeling misled and taken advantage of through the underwhelming menu. If an exhibition truly impacted options that drastically, diners deserved clear disclosure upfront rather than discovering the truth partway through the overpriced meal.

The whole experience left a poor impression that did not feel befitting of a place named after my grandmother’s house. After enduring mediocre food and service, we felt no warmth or care resembled Nonna’s kitchen.

I cannot recommend Casa di Nonna when looking for authentic, affordable Italian in Cannes. Based on our frustrating meal, it seems the city still lacks a true standout. Consider alternatives to avoid disappointment.

My daughter and I stumbled upon Bistro Loumi on a busy Saturday evening in August. Walking in without a reservation, we were pleasantly surprised to find accommodation, even if not initially in the main dining room.

The bar lounge where we were seated turned out to be a lovely spot. The bartender/server saw to our every need, delivering drinks and meals at lightning speed. Just as we began eating, a table in the main restaurant freed up – but we were quite happy where we were.

I thoroughly enjoyed my sea bass dinner, finding it prepared beautifully with fresh, vibrant flavors. My daughter also gave her burger two thumbs up. Best of all, given the upscale location along La Croisette, prices were incredibly reasonable for the quality.

The lively bustle and energy of a successful night out carried through the relaxed bar atmosphere. I would happily return to experience a meal in the stylish main dining area as well.

Bistro Loumi proved the perfect last-minute find. Its attentive staff and reliably good food, at fair prices, will have me recommending it to others visiting Cannes. A definite gem along the famous boulevard.

As a frequent visitor to Cannes, I’ve come to accept that Ristorante Pampelonne Beach is truly the place to see and be seen. With its idyllic beach club setting and attentive service, it’s easy to understand the buzz.

My latest lunch lived up to every expectation. From the warm welcome on arrival to the delivery of my exceptional Angus beef dish, the staff exuded excellence. The presentation, flavors, and tenderness of the meat were simply superb.

Just taking in the beach views allows you to unwind in style. But pair that with culinary delights as I enjoyed, and Pampelonne elevates the experience to new heights. Prices reflect the location and quality, but it’s an indulgence worth every euro.

Whether grabbing a chilled drink by the shore or settling in for a full gastronomic journey, this beach club sets the Cannes standard. Its ambiance and award-winning cuisine make it the premier spot – both visually and for satisfying one’s appetite. I’ll certainly be back!

Seeking a good breakfast option near our hotel, my wife and I dropped by Café Pavillon one morning. Even at the busy 10 am hour, the friendly staff worked efficiently to accommodate everyone.

Our waiter whisked us promptly to a shaded table outside. We placed our order – an omelet that arrived hot and tasty alongside two refreshing iced coffees. A little later, a chocolate croissant and fresh OJ joined us for the complete French breakfast experience.

At 32 euros including tip, the entire morning meal was incredibly reasonable given the busy port town setting. But the excellent, swift service is what really stood out during our visit.

Despite crowds, our needs were kindly and competently attended to. I would gladly return to Café Pavillon, confident in receiving equally pleasant hospitality and quality cuisine at fair prices. It’s a true secret gem for breakfast in Cannes.

My friend and I happened upon Brasserie L’Unione for dinner one night in Cannes, and I’m so glad we did. Though we arrived 30 minutes past our reservation time, the wonderfully warm staff seated us promptly.

Our server took the time to personally recommend favorite dishes from the menu. The food far surpassed expectations – dishes were executed beautifully and represented exceptional value compared to snootier spots charging double or triple.

In addition to incredible flavors, the brasserie offers lovely street views of lively yet not overwhelming pedestrian activity. It creates a pleasant energy without being noisy or uncomfortable.

Throughout our meal, the staff maintained bright, friendly demeanors – a true joy after a long day of travel. This gem of a find renewed our faith in happening upon special local experiences off the tourist track.

Brasserie L’Unione offers everything you want from character to service, and quality all at superb prices. I will absolutely return next visit and highly recommend exploring beyond the main strips to discover treasures like this.

With ideal access to the white sand beach, it was easy to linger at our table for hours watching waves and soaking in sunshine. Attentive staff consistently saw to our needs with gracious smiles.

The inviting yet unpretentious ambiance coupled with wonderful cuisine, ambiance and service made Plage Papagayo our favorite discovery in Cannes. We will happily return given the chance to immerse ourselves once more in such feel-good seaside pleasures. Highly recommended!

My husband and I were searching for a casual yet high quality spot for lunch near the Palais du Festival in Cannes. What a joy we discovered at the charming little Café des Beaux-Arts.

Hands down, the absolute best beef and salmon tartare I’ve ever tasted – exquisitely fresh and perfectly seasoned. The presentation was a visual feast as well. We savored each bite in the cozy, elegant space.

Waiters were a delight – polite, thoughtful, and unintrusive. Tables were arranged invitingly with care taken in ambiance. What a find just steps from the bustling festival scene.

Café des Beaux-Arts succeeds where other “festival fare” fails by bringing gourmet ingredients and French hospitality together seamlessly. We left satisfied in every sense, vowing to return on future trips. This neighborhood gem is not to be missed.

As a regular visitor to Cannes for over a decade, Restaurant Petit Paris holds a special place in my heart. I’ve had the pleasure of watching it thrive under the care of its hardworking, welcoming owners for many years.

From the warm greetings to top-notch food, the consistency of hospitality and quality have cemented Petit Paris as a must-visit each time. Friendly staff delivers clean, delicious dishes showcasing fresh, local ingredients at their finest. Sumon tartare, niçois salad, and zucchini blossoms are standout choices.

While some establishments rest on past success, Petit Paris continues improving small touches to maintain excellence. It’s clear their passion lies in crafting memorable dining experiences for loyal patrons and newcomers alike.

After all this time, I’m still amazed at how a neighborhood gem like this remains unknown to so many. I hope sharing my admiration helps spread the word about a true hidden gem of Cannes. Petit Paris will forever hold my highest recommendation.

Seeking an authentic French bistro experience, a friend and I were delighted to discover Bistrot des Amis. Though small in size, this cozy restaurant makes a big impression.

From the moment we arrived, it was clear we were in capable hands. Staff attended to our every need in a polite, personable manner. Dishes delivered on the promise of fresh, seasonal local cuisine. Each bite was full of vibrant, complex flavors. Wines carefully selected to complement every course elevated the meal.

While some larger venues lose charm, Bistrot des Amis feels like dining in a friend’s home. The warm, welcoming hospitality wraps you in the true French bistro spirit.

Whether joining locals or exploring like us, diners will walk away satisfied both culinarily and emotionally. I highly recommend browsing this little neighborhood gem for a taste of classic, quality French cuisine. Bon appétit!

Bistrot de la Plage boasts an idyllic beachfront setting, which initially drew us in. However, the overall experience left a sour taste. We sipped cocktails while watching the sunset, and the food began well – fresh, flavorful dishes perfectly suited the mood. Service flowed smoothly too.

At payment, things took an unexpected turn. When stating the menu advertised service comprise (tip included), our server denied this and insisted on a gratuity.

Checking the menu confirmed her claim untrue, yet she doubled down until we reluctantly tipped – though not obliged or comfortable doing so based on mixed signals. While the ambiance along Cannes’ seaside remains dreamy, being misled and pressed at the register ruined what was otherwise a pleasant meal.

I’d suggest diners confirm payment policies upfront to avoid facing similar unwanted pressure. Unfortunately, dishonesty, in order to collect more tips, taints an otherwise memorable beach bistro setting here.

While passing Chez Florian, the delicious aromas lured us inside their adjacent catering operation. What a find! We admired chickens roasting on the spit along with enticing prepared meals. On a whim, I chose a whole chicken along with samplings of artichokes, salad, beet salad, and mushrooms.

Once seated al fresco, everything arrived beautifully plated and portioned. The chicken achieved ideal tenderness and flavor. Each side complemented it perfectly. Fresh bread proved the crowning touch. We thoroughly enjoyed this impromptu picnic, admiring the care taken in the presentation.

Best of all, our server happily prepared takeaway containers so we could continue our feast at leisure. We’ll surely return to explore other tempting creations from Chez Florian’s talented kitchen. A true local gem!

Distinctly French fare showcased local ingredients at their peak. From buttery bouillabaisse to pastry perfection, each dish impressed. Flavors were superbly realized without pretense.

As travelers hoping to discover hidden gems, Restaurant La Plage exceeded our highest expectations. With stunning vistas, polished service, and excellent cuisine to boot – we left nostalgic for our chance to discover this Cannes institution. Quelle expérience!
