Located in northern France along the Seine River, Rouen is a picturesque city steeped in history. On weekends, nothing is better than fueling up for the day with a leisurely brunch. Here are some of the top rated spots in Rouen to get your fill.

Located within the Radisson hotel in Rouen, Le Jeanne offered a beautifully presented and creative fine dining experience. For the plat du jour, I was impressed by the artful mingling of seafood, sorbet, and fresh fruit garnish topped with caviar – perhaps a bit too rich for my taste.

My main course of chicken leg and thigh came with two exquisite sauces, one with Thai influences and the other harder to place but equally delicious. The chicken was unfortunately slightly undercooked the first time so they promptly reheated it for me.

The frozen dessert of ice cream surrounded by seasonal fruits and cream was a lovely way to finish the meal.

Eating here felt like a treat, with the setting next to an evocative medieval tower and name styled after Joan of Arc’s signature adding a historic atmosphere. A bit pricey but worthwhile given the quality and atmosphere. Loved learning about the connection to Joan as well. Both tourists and locals were thoroughly enjoying dainty lunches and apres-work drinks alike. An elegant spot for special occasions in Rouen.

2. La Parenthèse

For a special birthday brunch, our group of 4 went to Le Brin de Zinc in the heart of Rouen and were incredibly impressed. At only €26 per person, the buffet-style brunch provided incredible value and variety.

Those with the vegetarian option raved about the chilled cucumber soup, assorted cheeses, scrambled eggs, and grilled tomatoes. The main spread had all the classics like bacon as well.

For dessert, we were spoiled with mini pancakes, yogurts, brownies, and cheesecake – it just kept coming! Fresh OJ and unlimited coffee/tea/hot chocolate ensured no one was left hungry or thirsty.

While we sat outside on this lovely summer day, the interior looked just as charming. Service was top-notch too. This was easily one of the best Sunday brunches we’ve ever had and the perfect base for exploring Rouen. Highly recommended!

If you’re looking for a fun activity and delicious eats, look no further than Arkose! We went bouldering this weekend and had the best time. The climbing gym is spacious, well-maintained, and has routes suitable for all skill levels.

But let me tell you, the restaurant is where Arkose really shines. Using organic, local, and seasonal ingredients as much as possible, everything we tasted was incredible. From the salads bursting with fresh veggies to the pizza cooked in their wood-fired oven, it was all simply divine.

You can really taste their dedication to sustainable, nutrient-dense foods. I left feeling fully satisfied yet light on my feet, ready to climb some more. The drinks menu has fun cocktails and craft beers too.

Whether you go to climb or just to dine, Arkose is a lovely way to spend an afternoon being active and supporting a business with values aligned with healthy living. I can’t wait to go back!

My partner and I stumbled upon Les Fils à Maman one afternoon while out walking our two pugs. We were thrilled to find this charming restaurant so dog friendly that they happily allowed us to dine inside with our puppies safely in their pram.

The food was absolutely incredible – some of the best French cuisine I’ve tasted. The young staff we interacted with were also delightful. We loved it so much that we immediately booked a table to return the following night!

It’s clear why reservations are a must, even if made just the morning of. The buzzing atmosphere and delicious smells pouring from the kitchen had the place packed.

Whether dining with dogs or sans canine companions, Les Fils a Maman is an experience not to be missed in Bordeaux. The warm hospitality and impeccable cooking alone make it worthy of your visit. My highest possible recommendation.

This riverside restaurant right along the Seine offered a really unique dining experience. What sets them apart is that you choose your main protein or vegetables – say seabream or mushroom risotto – and then select 2-3 sides to accompany and build your own dish.

The fresh ingredients were top-notch and so flavorful. We tried things like roasted cauliflower, truffle mashed potatoes, and sauteed greens. You can really taste the care taken with sourcing top quality products.

Sitting beside the water provided beautiful scenery as we noshed. The staff were also attentive. An inventive way to enjoy a tasty meal – we enjoyed crafting our plates! Even on a weekday evening, it was busy but worth the wait. Highly recommended for adventurous diners.

Particularly noteworthy was the foie gras starter, absolutely divine. All dishes were prepared to perfection and showcased the incredible care and skill of the kitchen team.

From start to finish, every aspect exceeded expectations. The atmosphere was refined without being stuffy. This is a true gem along the waterfront that I would recommend without hesitation to both locals and visitors eager to sample top-notch cuisine in the area. My partner and I were strolling along the waterfront when Joe’s Waffles caught our eye with its modern interior and enticing displays. On a whim, we decided to stop in and were so glad we did!

We built our own meal around their specialty – a sweet potato waffle. Ours was topped with chicken salad, avocado, and a fried egg. Everything was delicious!

The ladies working the counter were extremely pleasant and helpful in suggesting waffle toppings and extras. They clearly take pride in the food and customer service.

It was a fun, casual spot for a tasty lunch. Even though we’d just popped in, the ladies made us feel quite welcome. Great option if you want some thing light yet satisfying along the harbor. We’ll be back to try other creative waffle combinations!

As we were checking out of our hotel in Rouen, we decided to enjoy one last family breakfast at the café next door before departing. Our server went above and beyond to ensure we had a pleasant experience.

She was gracious, and helpful and took the time to recommend menu items since some were in French. As English speakers, we appreciated her skills and willingness to help translate.

Even kinder, when she learned our luggage was ready but our rental car was still being dropped at the train station, she allowed us to store our bags safely while we ate.

It made what could have been a stressful morning so easy. The food and service were excellent. Even though it was part of our hotel stay, I would happily return or recommend to others visiting Rouen. A lovely spot to dine!

10. La FabriK

With its prime location right on the Seine riverfront, La FabriK afforded the most incredible nightly sunsets over dinner. What a magical way to spend an evening in Rouen!

The fresh, seasonal menu did not disappoint either. We started with the Salad FabriK which was bursting with flavor. Thin crust pizza and homemade pasta dishes were other standout choices – rich yet not too heavy.

But the desserts really stole the show! Creamy creme brulee with a perfectly caramelized top and a nutella pizza drizzled with chocolate ganache had us oohing and aahing.

Service was pleasant too. Such a gorgeous setting and top-quality foods made La Fabrik a real treat. Highly recommend catching both the views and a meal here – it’s the perfect spot to unwind at sunset downtown Rouen style. We’ll be back!

A group of us came to Cafe Francois on a friend’s recommendation for Sunday brunch. Contrary to some lukewarm reviews, we found the experience to be excellent.

The buffet selection was freshly stocked with hot items, cold salads, and cheeses, desserts, and pastries. It was easy to keep going back for more! They offer unlimited apple and orange juice, which we appreciate.

While advertised as unlimited drinks, it seems only one glass of wine is included per person. But that was our only “complaint” – everything else far surpassed expectations.

Service from the staff was pleasant and attentive without being overbearing. The perfect lazy Sunday meal out. We all felt comfortably full and satisfied by the end.

Don’t let other reviews deter you – we’d highly recommend giving Cafe Francois a try for breakfast or brunch. Great quality and value for the money. We’ll be returning next weekend ourselves!

My family and I stopped by Chez Fred purely out of necessity one night – everywhere else seemed closed. But it turned out to be a happy accident!

While none of us were initially in the mood for burgers, we were all very pleasantly surprised. We tried both chicken and beef patties and they were cooked perfectly, so juicy and flavorful.

The cheesy fries were addictive – gooey, melty cheese paired with crispy fries. A perfect late-night snack. Service was quick too. I’m glad we ended up here by chance! The quality of ingredients and cooking really shine through.

No need to be put off just because it’s a burger joint. Chez Fred raises the bar – these are burgers worth deliberately seeking out. Accidental find no more – we’ll be back for more.

With these top-rated spots, you’re sure to find a memorable meal to fuel up for exploring the charming city of Rouen. Bon appétit!
